Throughout the year, many activities are organised in school to enrich the curriculum.  These form an integral part of school life and add that extra dimension to the children's learning.  Activities vary from those involving whole Year groups such as Themed Learning Expos to whole school events such as International Day.
All Year groups are involved in a programme of field trips and educational visits to places of interest around Bangkok like art galleries, parks, places of worship and museums. These are usually closely integrated with the learning taking place in the classroom.
Residential visits form an integral part of the curriculum for all students in Key Stage 2. The visits usually take place in January/February each year and provide many opportunities for enriching our curriculum and also for developing social skills and independence.
A briefing session is held for parents prior to the Residentials and full documentation is provided.  Great care is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the students and detailed risk assessments are undertaken. The visits are valued as a vehicle for both personal and social development and as a way to combine many elements of the curriculum together in a practical learning environment.
The Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) programme also provides students with a wide range of options and a rich range of after-school interests to pursue through the term. Last year, there were over 300 different ECAs available at different levels throughout the school ranging from Ballet and Mandarin, to the Environmental Club and Horse Riding.
The Primary Physical Education Department also offers numerous ECAs, runs inter-class competitions in relevant games, and offers students the opportunity to try out for and participate in matches and competitions against other schools. Bangkok Patana School is part of BISAC (Bangkok International Schools Athletic Conference) which offers high-level competition in basketball, football, tee-ball,athletics, gymnastics and swimming. Our Under 9s, 10s and 11s also have the opportunity to try out for our FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in South-East Asia and East Asia) team which participates every June in the Junior FOBISIA Games.
