¬°Felices Pascuas!

The Spanish word for Easter is “Pascua” and “Semana Santa” or Holy Week is a mixture of relaxation and religious celebration. In Spanish-speaking countries traditions and customs at Easter vary from country to country but a popular practice among many European and western cultures is to decorate Easter eggs or cookies shaped like an egg  “un huevo de Pascua” or a bunny “un conejo de Pascua”.

After learning the colours in Spanish, Year 4 students used Royal icing and sprinkles in different colours to decorate their Easter cookies, creating beautiful patterns and cute bunnies. Not only did the students have lots of fun but they also found the experience of decorating cookies incredibly relaxing and soothing.

This year Easter Sunday falls on April 21st and the Year 4 students, Señorita Kathy and Señorita Mariela would like to wish you all Happy Easter! or as we say in Spanish ¡FELICES PASCUAS!
