Year 6 Poetry Competition

After two weeks of intensive rehearsals for the annual Year 6 Poetry Competition, the students were bursting with excitement when their moment finally arrived. Each of the eight classes choreographed a performance of their chosen poem, written by a member of their class. This year's theme was Global Citizenship, and the poems had subjects ranging from environmental responsibility to multiculturalism. The presence of Mr Mills and Ms Fiona Rodel on the judging panel added to the excitement of the occasion. Year 5 were invited along to watch the performances and offer their support. Every class received positive feedback and the judges and audience were left in awe of the talent on offer and eagerly awaiting the announcement of the winner, which will be at the Year 6 Leaver assembly on Thursday 21st June. Well done Year 6, the poetry stakes have certainly been raised for next year!
