Combining Minecraft with D+T

This term Year 4 have been developing their engineering skills as they were challenged to build a bridge to link the two imagined communities of Wildover and Amaryllis. By making careful observations in science and conducting research during literacy, the students identified the key features of successful bridges and began to plan. Minecraft was used to test the suitability of the first design without wasting any precious building materials. Using information gained from this process, the budding Brunels improved their initial designs and began to build their finished product from wood during their Design and Technology lessons.
