Bangkok Patana School set in beautiful purpose-built premises on the outskirts of Bangkok, offers the English National Curriculum, IGCSE/GCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The school has over 2300 students aged from 2½ to 18 years and representing more than 65 nationalities. Bangkok Patana School is accredited by CIS and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is an approved International Baccalaureate School.

Librarian – Primary (Early Years)

Responsible for day to day operations of the Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Foundation Stage aspects of the Primary Library and to liaise closely with the Teacher Librarians in ensuring that the resources and staffing of the KS1 library enables the effective delivery of the library programme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervises the day to day activities of the Key Stage 1 aspect of Primary Library and ensure that all designated tasks are completed to the expected standard and within the timelines set.
  • Participates fully in library based learning activities including reading to students on a daily basis, conducting orientation for Year 1 and 2 students when required and providing ideas for new learning activities.
  • Assists the General Librarian – Primary in organising duty rosters for all Primary Librarian staff in order to ensure the Library runs efficiently and to expected standards.
  • Liaises with relevant persons e.g. teachers, ICT provision etc to provide necessary resources for the curriculum.
  • Promotes the Library to Foundation Stage students with the aim of instilling within the children a love of reading.

Skills and Experience:  

  • Thai Nationality wih Bachelor’s degree in any subject.
  • Previous experience working in a Library, preferably within an education environment.
  • Highly customer-focused with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Good administrative skills and computer literacy.
