There are opportunities for students at Bangkok Patana to participate in swimming at both a recreational and competitive level through the extra-curricular activity programme and TigerSharks Swimming Club programme.
The TigerSharks Swimming Club caters for over two hundred and fifty athletes from the five and six year old TigerPrawns up to the National Squad Varsity team.
The programme is coordinated by Richard Thorp, the Head Coach, who heads up a team of nine qualified and experienced coaches. There are up to nine sessions available per week, including morning sessions, with differing training expectations depending on the age and ability of the athlete.
The club competes extremely successfully against international schools both locally and in South East Asia. The school are the reigning Bangkok International Schools (BISAC) and Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) champions and were placed 2nd Boys and 3rd Girls (3rd Overall Team) at the South East Asian Students Activity Conference (SEASAC) event in 2016. Twenty-one students took part in the Thai Nationals winning two Silver and a Bronze medal in 2016.
