Graduation of the Class of 2019
The 125 students of the Class of 2019 have completed their graduation ceremonies.
The Class of 2019 received their diplomas and officially graduated from Bangkok Patana School on Saturday 1st June. The Senior Delegates spoke eloquently on their impressions of the school and their futures, whilst members of the academic team were in turns funny, inspiring and uplifting in their speeches. The audience and graduates enjoyed a touching performance of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in a ceremony streamed live around the world. Celebrations for Grad19 continued in the beautifully decorated Sports Hall with the camaraderie of friends and family. Congratulations to the Class of 2019 and welcome to the Patana Alumni group!
“You are about to proudly come up on this stage and be acknowledged for reaching your full potential. Now, I wanted to find a real snappy upbeat quote… and I came up with this quote from Joe Plumeri, ‘You can Google for an answer. You can Google for a mate. You can Google for a career. But you can’t Google to find what’s in your heart – the passion that lifts you skyward.’” Mr Matt Mills, Head of School
“Patana has offered us incomparable opportunities to investigate and develop our interests. The surprises and successes, even sorrows we have experienced here have moulded us into individuals who are strong yet malleable, courageous yet compassionate, resolute yet respectful. And as we graduate and venture into the next stage of our education and our lives let us cherish our childhood adventures that have forged us into the individuals that we are today.” Sakooltipaya (Koko) Lotharukpong
“We stand on the shoulders of giants, many of whom are in this room today, many of whom are now in other countries. You have enabled us to reach out to our dreams and mould the world around us. Yes, we have worked hard and yes we are proud of our achievements but we will also be forever thankful to you as it is your past decisions and actions that have enabled our current and future successes. ” Suyash Kothari
“In the story of our lives, we are each the hero. For the past 18 years, we have been writing a coming of age classic. Now the next pages are blank, awaiting our new chapters to unfold. Like the heroes before us, we are fitted with an armour of knowledge and trained to wield our individual powers…. Whether you change the world or your story is more subtle, it is worth writing… The next page in life always remains blank, and you can choose what you write.” Sophie Stevens
“You are the future, you have responsibilities. We haven’t raised you to be passive, we’ve given you an amazing education. Use it. Be heroes, be inspirational, make the world a better place.” Mr Michael Smith, Secondary Principal.
