As part of the recruitment process applicants must provide:

  • The name and contact details of three referees. One referee should be the applicant's current or most recent employer. In addition to the written references, referees may be contacted to obtain a verbal reference.
  • An up-to-date DBS Disclosure if from UK or police check.
  • Documentation from universities and colleges verifying attendance and successful completion of courses undertaken.
  • An up-to-date medical.

Bangkok Patana School set in beautiful purpose-built premises on the outskirts of Bangkok, offers the English National Curriculum, IGCSE/GCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The school has over 2300 students aged from 2½ to 18 years and representing more than 65 nationalities. Bangkok Patana School is accredited by CIS and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is an approved International Baccalaureate School.

Social Media and Alumni Relations Coordinator

The Social Media and Alumni Relations Coordinator is a newly created positon, reporting into the Development, Alumni & Marketing Manager. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to join the team and drive the School’s social and online media presence and enhance the school’s alumni programme to create a culture where alumni relations are an intrinsic part of the School’s fabric.

Key responsibilities will be split 60% on alumni relations and 40% on social media:

 Alumni Relations (60%):

  • Increase the level of communication and engagement between the School and the alumni network through creative communications using various channels including mobile, e-mail, social media and web based campaigns.
  • Create a large bank of quality graduate stories and photographs that can be used on various Bangkok Patana media channels (video, social media), and can show the broad base of careers by Patana graduates around the world.
  • Assemble and curate an “Alumni Wall” display within the School, to promote the alumni network.
  • Manage the organisation and promotion of creative alumni events in support of the overall School strategy.
  • Maintain and collate accurate data for the Patana Alumni database including personal contact details, current career path & employment record and information pertaining to general queries on events, research and other correspondence.
  • Create and run “value add” queries, to produce statistical information for the purposes of assisting with alumni communications, publications, events and to enable management decision making.
  • Develop advertisements that link alumni globally.
  • Complete alumni tours of the School campus as required.

 Social Media (40%):

  • Define and execute social media strategy for the School.
  • Build the reputation of the School and develop the School’s brand and reputation on online platforms.
  • Design engaging texts, image and video content to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around School news and events.
  • Post daily or more than once a day on social media platforms covering different Year group ranges, a wide variety of curriculum and extra curricular activities showing how we fulfill our mission and vision.
  • Oversee community management across core social media channels.
  • Reporting and usage/engagement analysis of current social channels and recommendations for these as well as potential future channels.
  • Collaborate with all members of the marketing team and with academic staff to create relevant content.
  • Performs any other duty as may be assigned and agreed by the supervisor. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing & communications or a related discipline.
  • Native or first language English speaker with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solid experience of developing and implementing innovative social media campaigns through various communication channels in an international organization.
  • Previous experience with community or alumni engagement.
  • Event management experience.
  • Practical experience of design software and video editing (eg: InDesign, Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop, ).
  • Project management skills with the ability to work autonomously and get projects delivered to time and to budget.
  • Analytical with a strong attention to detail in order to maintain quality data and produce meaningful “value add” reports for management.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with online community management and social media management best practice.
  • Content creation and curation. Ability to maintain a regular schedule of posts, coordinate with other writers and also have the ability to create content independently.
  • Consistently demonstrates high energy, a sense of urgency, decisiveness and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A self starter with the proven ability to work across different audiences, cultures and levels of experience.
